Stainless Steel Steam Jacketed Kettles

Introduction
Simply put, a stainless steel steam jacketed kettle is a kettle heated by steam. It features a particularly large heating surface area, resulting in extremely high thermal efficiency and exceptionally even heating. Whether for simmering soups, stewing meat, making candies, or pharmaceutical production, it allows liquid materials to boil quickly while offering excellent temperature control.
We offer four types of stainless steel steam jacketed kettles: vertical, tilting, tilting with bottom scraper agitation, and tilting with bottom scraper agitation. Please contact us for more details if you have any specific requirements.
- Capacity: 50L – 600L
- Material: 304 stainless steel
Working Principle
This stainless steel kettle features a double-walled structure with a jacket between the inner and outer pots. This jacket serves as the “heat transfer channel.” → Pressurized steam is fed into the jacket, where it disperses evenly. The steam transfers heat through the inner pot to the liquid or ingredients inside. The entire process involves indirect heating, preventing direct contact between the steam and the ingredients. This ensures uniform heating while avoiding dilution or contamination of the ingredients, and offers significantly higher thermal efficiency compared to conventional direct-flame heating.

Structural Components

- Core Component: Inner Kettle Body—We use a specialized acid- and heat-resistant austenitic stainless steel that resists corrosion and deformation, whether cooking acidic ingredients or simmering at high temperatures;
- Motor: Primarily used with stirred jacketed kettles, it drives the stirring mechanism to ensure even mixing of ingredients or liquids inside the kettle;
- Lid: Features excellent sealing performance, preventing steam leakage to ensure heating efficiency while also keeping out dust and contaminants;
- Condensate Drain: Used to drain water resulting from steam condensation within the jacket, preventing water accumulation from affecting heating performance and protecting the kettle body from corrosion;
- Steam Inlet: The channel through which steam enters the jacket; connects to the steam source and allows for control of steam flow;
- Pressure Relief Valve: Allows for the timely release of excess steam or air from the kettle to regulate internal pressure, preventing overpressure and ensuring operational safety;
- Discharge Port: Located at the bottom or lower side of the kettle body, this is where the finished product is discharged.
Precautions for Use
- Do not exceed the pressure limit: During operation, the steam pressure must never exceed the rated working pressure marked on the kettle for extended periods; do not cross the safety threshold;
- Slow Steam Inlet: Open the steam inlet valve gradually until the desired pressure is reached; For the condensate outlet shut-off valve, if a steam trap is installed, keep it open at all times; if no steam trap is installed, open the valve first, and once steam begins to escape, close the valve slightly to maintain a small amount of steam and water escaping;
- Safety valve is adjustable: You can adjust the safety valve’s set pressure based on the actual steam pressure during use, offering great flexibility.
- Monitor the pressure gauge frequently: During operation, check the pressure gauge regularly to monitor changes in steam pressure. Use the steam inlet valve to make timely adjustments to prevent sudden fluctuations in pressure;
- Drain the water after use: After stopping the steam supply, remember to open the straight-spouted plug at the bottom of the boiler to drain any remaining water. This protects the boiler body and makes it easier to use next time.

Advantages of Stainless Steel Steam Jacketed Kettles
- Fast and Even Heating: With a large heating surface area and high thermal efficiency, heat is distributed evenly throughout the pot. Materials come to a boil quickly, temperature control is precise, and the resulting product quality is consistent.
- Convenient and Safe: Attractive design, simple installation, and operation that requires only turning a few valves. Safety valves and pressure gauges provide dual protection, ensuring peace of mind during use.
- Stainless Steel Construction, Sturdy and Durable: The acid- and heat-resistant stainless steel inner pot is corrosion-resistant and easy to clean, remaining as shiny as new even after long-term use.
- Multiple Styles, Customizable: Choose from three basic styles—fixed, tilting, or stirring—and customize the shape, angle, and heating method to suit your specific application, meeting a wide range of needs.

Applications
- Food Processing Industry: Candy, pharmaceuticals, dairy, alcohol, pastries, beverages, candied fruits, canned goods, and more. Whether simmering, steaming, sterilizing, or concentrating, it handles it all with ease;
