High and Low Speed Liquid Mixing Tanks

Introduction
High- and low-speed liquid mixing tanks are multifunctional mixing devices that combine high-speed dispersion with low-speed wall-scraping agitation, specifically designed for the precision processing of medium- to high-viscosity, multiphase materials.
The tank features a compact design and excellent sealing performance, supporting long-term, stable operation under high-temperature, high-pressure, and corrosive conditions. With customizable capacities, heating/cooling jackets, and vacuum/pressurization systems, it can meet diverse needs ranging from laboratory-scale pilot testing to industrial batch production.
Working Principle
Upon startup, the high-speed dispersion and mixing system is driven by a dedicated motor. Through a transmission mechanism, the dispersion disc rotates at high speed, generating powerful shear and centrifugal forces. This rapidly breaks down and disperses lumps and agglomerates in the material while promoting axial flow, thereby accelerating dissolution and homogenization. This process is suitable for the rapid mixing and dispersion of low- to medium-viscosity materials.
At the same time, the low-speed wall-scraping agitation system operates synchronously. Driven by a gear motor, the frame-type or anchor-type agitator blades rotate slowly. The scraping blades on the agitator blades closely adhere to the inner walls and bottom of the tank, thoroughly scraping off material adhering to the tank walls and bottom and drawing it into the mixing system, thereby preventing material residue and clumping. At the same time, they drive the material to form a tangential flow, which, together with the axial flow generated by high-speed dispersion, creates an interlacing mixing flow field, ensuring that all material within the tank is uniformly mixed with no dead zones or residue.

Structural Components
Tank Structure
- Multi-layer structure: inner cylinder + insulation layer + outer shell (optional);
- The bottom features an elliptical or conical head for efficient drainage;
- The top is equipped with a quick-opening manhole (DN300–500) for easy maintenance and cleaning.
Agitation System
- High-speed shaft: drives the dispersing disc, typically located slightly below the center;
- Low-speed shaft: Driven by a gear motor, connected to frame-type or anchor-type wall scrapers;
- Scraper material: PTFE, ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene, or metal flexible scrapers.
Control System
- Equipped with a PLC intelligent control system featuring stepless adjustment of high- and low-speed stirring speeds, stirring time setting, and temperature and pressure monitoring;
- Supports automated program control, allowing preset stirring process parameters to achieve standardized operations for batch production.
Auxiliary Interfaces
- Feed port, liquid inlet, sight glass and light port, spare port (CIP cleaning ball interface), sampling valve;
- Heat transfer components (optional);
- Jacket, semi-circular tube jacket, internal spiral coil.

Advantages of High/Low Speed Liquid Mixing Tanks
- Integrated high-speed dispersion and low-speed wall scraping: A single machine handles both powder-liquid dispersion and thorough mixing, eliminating the need for secondary transfers and reducing equipment investment.
- Exceptional sealing reliability: Mechanical seals combined with a sealant system ensure leak-free operation over the long term; packing seals are easy to maintain and suitable for materials containing hard particles.
- Comprehensive Safety Features: Multiple safeguards including pressure gauges, safety valves, and explosion-proof motors (optional) ensure compliance with pressure vessel safety standards.
- Easy Cleaning and Maintenance: Quick-opening manholes, removable scrapers, and a large discharge port at the tank bottom support CIP (Clean-in-Place) cleaning.
- Customizable: From 100L laboratory-scale to 50-ton production-scale, and from low-viscosity resins to high-viscosity putty, systems can be tailored to specific process requirements.

Applications
- Chemical Industry: Used for the dispersion, mixing, and dissolution of materials such as coatings, inks, adhesives, resins, pigments, and dyes.
- Food Industry: Used for the stirring, homogenization, and blending of fruit juices, sauces, dairy products, beverages, food additives, and paste-like foods, such as tomato sauce, jam, yogurt, and beverage syrups.
- Pharmaceutical Industry: Used for stirring, mixing, and dispersing pharmaceutical solutions, ointments, and drug intermediates, such as ointment suspensions and pre-mixes for injectable solutions.
- Personal Care Industry: Used for emulsifying, dispersing, and mixing shampoos, body washes, skincare products, cosmetic creams and lotions, and laundry detergents.
