304 Stainless Steel Water Tank

Introduction
Our 304 stainless steel water tanks are available in both vertical and horizontal configurations and can be custom-manufactured according to your drawings. Made from high-quality 304 stainless steel with no compromises on materials or workmanship, they are sturdy, durable, and aesthetically pleasing, and have earned the trust of numerous customers both domestically and internationally.
- Volume Range: 200L – 10T
What 304 SS Water Tanks Do We Have?
- Vertical SS Water Tanks: These tanks have a small footprint and are suitable for installation on rooftops, in courtyards, or on the ground or load-bearing platforms in pump rooms. Capacities range from 500L to 10T.
- Horizontal SS Water Tanks: With a lower profile, these tanks can be placed in garages, basements, or installed semi-buried. They are commonly used for fire protection reserves or in spaces with limited room.
- Square Modular SS Water Tanks: Bolted together on-site, suitable for large-scale water storage (10T–100T). They are shipped in modular sections and can be installed on rooftops or at ground level.
- Custom SS Water Tanks: Custom-designed based on on-site dimensions or process requirements (e.g., with insulation jackets or special inlet/outlet orientations).

Why 304 SS Water Tanks Are Suitable for Long-Term Water Storage
Thanks to its scientific alloy composition of 18% chromium and 8% nickel, 304 stainless steel forms a dense chromium oxide passivation layer on its surface through the reaction of chromium with oxygen. This layer automatically regenerates when exposed to water, effectively blocking the penetration of air, moisture, and impurities in the water, thereby eliminating issues such as rust and heavy metal leaching at the source.
In contrast, once the zinc coating on galvanized steel tanks is damaged, the iron substrate corrodes rapidly; PE plastic barrels, on the other hand, suffer from issues such as UV degradation, brittle fracture at low temperatures, and the leaching of additives. The theoretical service life of 304 stainless steel water tanks can exceed 20 years.

Our Product Advantages
- High Corrosion Resistance: Resists corrosion from atmospheric moisture, residual chlorine in tap water, and weak acidic or alkaline liquids, eliminating the need for additional protective coatings.
- Excellent Sealing: The fully welded, sealed structure effectively prevents external contaminants such as dust, insects, and fallen leaves from entering the tank, ensuring clean water quality.
- Convenient to Use: The smooth inner walls prevent dirt buildup, reducing the need for frequent cleaning; a drain valve at the bottom allows for the periodic removal of sediment or scale.
- Genuinely Sturdy Construction: We use thickened tank bodies and full-welded construction, with welds treated through acid washing and passivation to eliminate any shortcuts in manufacturing. Vertical tanks can be securely placed on roof load-bearing beams, while horizontal tanks can be partially buried to save space.
- Well-designed: The inlet pipe is equipped with a surge plate to prevent water flow from disturbing sediment at the bottom; the overflow pipe features an insect screen; and the manhole cover can be fitted with a vent valve to accommodate fluctuations in internal tank pressure caused by temperature changes.

Applications of 304 Stainless Steel Water Tanks
- Domestic Water Storage for Rural Self-Built Homes: Serves as an intermediate storage tank for tap water or well water to address peak water demand or water outages.
- Orchard and Farmland Irrigation: Integrates with water-fertigation systems as a buffer tank for mixed solutions.
- Factory Standby Water Supply: Used for cooling circulation water, process makeup water, or emergency firefighting water storage.
- Firefighting Reserve Water: High-pressure fire protection tanks meeting building fire safety code requirements.
- Water Supply for Bed-and-Breakfasts and Mountain Retreats: Paired with self-priming or booster pumps to address seasonal interruptions in mountain spring water flow.
- Temporary Construction Water: Storage of water for on-site domestic use or dust suppression at construction sites.

How to Maintain a 304 Stainless Steel Water Tank
- Regular Draining and Cleaning: Drain the water from the tank once a month and perform a thorough cleaning. When cleaning, use a soft cloth to wipe the inner walls; avoid using hard tools such as steel wool to prevent scratching the polished surface.
- Proper Installation Clearance: During installation, ensure sufficient expansion space is left at the bottom and around the tank to accommodate thermal expansion and contraction caused by temperature changes. This prevents structural deformation or weld cracking, which could shorten the tank’s service life.
- Inspect Critical Areas: Regularly inspect the tank’s welds, as these areas are most prone to premature aging and leaks. If rust or loosening is detected, address the issue promptly. Also, check accessories such as drain valves and inlet/outlet ports to ensure they operate smoothly and maintain a tight seal.
- Protection in Special Environments: For users in coastal areas, where high salt content in the air can accelerate tank corrosion, consider rinsing the tank with citric acid every six months to effectively neutralize chloride ion corrosion. For outdoor water tanks, add insulation to protect against extreme temperatures.
- Daily Precautions: Avoid subjecting the tank to severe impacts or scratches to prevent damage to the surface oxide film; When the tank is not in use for an extended period, drain the water, wipe it clean, and avoid moisture-induced rust.
