Horizontal Colloid Mill

Introduction
A horizontal colloid mill features core components (stator and rotor) mounted horizontally coaxially or separately from the motor. This results in a low overall height, a stable center of gravity, and minimal vibration during operation.
Wanzhi Machinery horizontal colloid mill is constructed of SS304 stainless steel, capable of grinding to micron-level fineness, high production capacity, and excellent sealing.
- Capacity(tons/h): 0.3 – 4
- Fineness(μm): 2 – 40
Working Principle
The core operating principle of a horizontal colloid mill is to utilize the powerful shear force generated by high-speed rotation to achieve ultrafine grinding and emulsification of materials. Its operation can be simplified into three steps:
- Feeding and suction: Material enters the grinding chamber through the feed system and falls into the tiny gap between the high-speed rotating grinding disc and the fixed static grinding disc;
- High-speed shearing and crushing: The dynamic grinding disc drives the material at high speed, creating intense friction with the static grinding disc. Simultaneously, the material is subjected to shear, impact, and grinding forces within the gap, tearing and pulverizing it into fine particles;
- Discharging: The processed material is discharged from the grinding chamber outlet under the action of centrifugal force, completing the ultrafine grinding process.

Advantages of a Horizontal Colloid Mill
The unique advantages of a horizontal colloid mill lie primarily in the structural benefits of its horizontal spindle design:
- More stable operation: A low center of gravity results in minimal vibration and noise. Frequency conversion control allows for on-demand speed adjustment to meet diverse production needs.
- Easier maintenance: Core components are easily disassembled and assembled, allowing for thorough cleaning and replacement, meeting high hygiene standards.
- Excellent at handling viscous materials: The horizontal structure prevents material blockage, making conveying and handling high-viscosity materials more efficient.
- Compact structure and small footprint: The direct-drive design saves space and facilitates installation.
- Excellent sealing: Effectively reduces the risk of leakage and ensures more reliable operation.

What materials are suitable for grinding with a horizontal colloid mill?
- Food products: Sesame paste, peanut butter, fruit jam, mayonnaise, salad dressing, chili sauce, meat paste, fats, etc.
- Chemical products: Coatings and paints, inks, lubricants, emulsified asphalt, adhesives, resins, etc.
- Personal care and pharmaceutical products: Face creams, lotions, serums, toothpaste, liquid soap, ointments, emulsions, oral liquids, etc.
